The Republic of Serbia is a country on the Balkan Peninsula, its northern part is the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The autonomous province of Vojvodina consists of 3 smaller regions, Bačka, Banat and Srem. Vojvodina is the Pannonian plain, which has the gentle hills of Fruška Gora in Srem, the Vršac mountains in Banat, and the Telečka plateau in Bačka. Fruška gora rises and its highest peak is 539 m above sea level.
28 nations and nationalities live in Vojvodina, it is a multi-ethnic and multi-confessional environment, which is rich in tradition, customs and culture.
Central Serbia, with its capital Belgrade, is mostly a rural area, with a large number of its specificities.
People are good hosts, friendly and happy to welcome guests.
Tourism is slowly developing. There are several wine-growing regions.
The tame plains of Vojvodina mirror the Danube and the Tisza, a wealth of manifestations (around 2,000 in Vojvodina alone).
The rich historical heritage of Vinča culture 7000 years BC, the Roman Empire where one of the capitals of the Roman province of Syrmia-Pannonia is Sirmium or today’s Sremska Mitrovica, Neoplantes today’s Novi Sad, etc., the rich Austro-Hungarian architecture and culture make the Vojvodina region really great potential , and Serbia.
The tradition of horses and equestrian sports, the magical world of rivers and lakes, the wealth of flora and fauna and special locations for ornithologists and all bird lovers, as well as a unique example of the European Amazon of the Upper Danube, the Fruška gora National Park, the protected nature area of Zasavica and much more. Part of the country has an urban character, and about 86% is a rural area where rural tourism is developing.
Both rural and urban areas are developing wine tourism.
